Burgundy and Gold 2 piece Indian Anarkali Layered Dress Size S/M

Burgundy and Gold 2 piece Indian Anarkali Layered Dress Size S/M

There are three pieces in this Shalwar Kameez, the pant is not shown. I am not sure how one would wear the pants and the legs are so skinny, but I will included them in the package! However, the under dress and anarkali are truly extraordinary. The under dress is sleeveless, fully lined, and a purple with golden floral woven into the fabric. The top is a sheer burgundy fabric that features a hem with the same fabric, ornate golden gimp, seed beads, and prong set rhinestones around the neckline and dipping down the front. Sleeves are long and fully sheer, trimmed with the floral fabric. This is a beautiful garment with extensive handwork. We have a large Indian population in this area, and I found this in a collection that I simply could not leave behind. DRY CLEAN ONLY! Please see measurements for details.

The anarkali dress originated in Pakistan. It is usually worn as a long frock style top worn over a fitted bottom. The word Anarkali literally means the ‘delicate bud of the pomegranate flower/ tree’. This name signifies the qualities of softness, vulnerability, innocence, and beauty associated with the women who wore Anarkalis.
