Ralph Lauren is an iconic American designer who embodies the spirit of the American dream. From college dropout to multi-billion dollar businessman, Ralph Lauren began as a tie salesman for Beau Brummel eventually convincing them to let him create his namesake line of ties in 1967. A year later, he began selling his Polo line, hand delivering goods from a space in a showroom in the Empire State Building. By 1969, his line was being sold in Bloomingdale’s. Lauren continued to build the Polo Brand, debuting his signature cotton polo in 1972. The Ralph Lauren and Polo Brands are multi-billion dollar brands. Ralph stepped down as CEO in 2015, but he continues to serve as CCO.
